As a business that focuses on carbon, we believe it is important to acknowledge our carbon footprint and make a difference where we can as it is impossible to ignore the increased awareness and the urgency needed to tackle climate change. A year ago for Black Friday, we partnered with Ecologi and doubled our ‘Watts for Trees’ campaign meaning double the amount of trees planted for each wheelset purchased, moving the business closer to becoming “Climate Positive” and enhancing our environmental impact. To date, we have been able to plant over 10,000 trees as part of this campaign.

Ironman World Championships 2023 had a slightly different feel to them. Not only was it the first time in the history of the sport that Kona was an all women event, not only was it a record breaking year – Lucy Charles-Barclay breaking the course record; Anne Haug breaking the run record, and 16 women going sub 9hours.

What I have come to realise this year is that the term “gravel” really means different things to different people.  The gravel roads that are available to ride vary wildly in different parts of the world. It sounds obvious really, but it means that someone from Sweden for example has a totally different idea of what a gravel race looks like to someone from France, let alone the USA or Argentina.  That makes it a bit tricky for the UCI to find a gravel route fitting of a world championships that suits everyone.

What followed was an incredibly brutal ride ending in a hard crash which halted the challenge but 220km of riding in tough wind conditions and many Precision Fuel and Hydration gels consumed the effort was immense.

Six counties, two Thames crossings and many lanes… it might sound like a description of the M25, but this loop of London is a bit different. We have partnered with Ribble to support athlete Joe Laverick in completing the fastest lap of London in the ‘London Loop in a 9-5’ challenge. Taking place on the 3rd October, Joe will ride the 276km supported route which will circumnavigate London, cross the Thames twice and take in many kilometres of home counties roads with the aim to complete in under 7 hours.
